Hi Missy,
Mum rang us from work (and is obviously not very busy today) to tell us about your message...
We go to Schnauzer Camp when Mum is away (too often), and we love it there. When Audrey (our surrogate mother) comes to pick us up we get so excited. We run straight out the door and into the cage in the back of her car without even a glance back at Mum to say goodbye. We also go there for the weekend when we need a haircut. There are rats in Toorak, we know because Joshy caught one, he didn't eat it though (yuk!). It's because we are close to the Yarra river. We even saw a fox in our street once.
Rest assured we had plenty of turkey at Christmas and again a few weeks ago when we had another christmas to get rid of the second turkey we bought. It's tasty but it makes us very unpleasant to be around the next day...
We would love to be on your homepage. Here are the names of other schnauzers at Como (we hope you will visit us there one day): Zoe, Toby Long Legs, Looby, Spike, William, Max, Grace, Adelaide, Mitzy, Lisa and Ernie and so many more...

Severe lickery and nippery,

Josh and Danny.

Dear Missy,
Forget all those other guys. If you want a *real* schnauzer then take a look at us! We are Josh (10) and Danny (9). We live in Toorak and spend many heavenly hours cavorting at Como park. There are many schnauzers in Toorak that we know. We go regularly to 'Scnauzer Camp' run by our dear friend Audrey Ralph. She is also responsible for our fine haircuts which have grown quite a lot in this picture. We have excellent singing voices and keep our mum's house rat free. She built a special platform in the back of her Pajero so we could look out the windows comfortably. She takes us just about everywhere with her. We have attached a picture taken of us at Christmas. We have to stay in the playpen because we can't resist stealing the turkey...
Josh and Danny.

I have a miniature schnauzer and was curious as to how much bigger a standard is. Could you let me know what Missy's height and weight are.
Thanks,

Subject: My Name is "Conrad"

I love your website.....
Missy.....I am Conrad and I am 5 and a 1/2. I live in Loomis, California with my brother Albert who will be 2 in March. Mom and Dad felt bad that I was home "alone" so much while they were working so they brought Albert home to keep me company. I must admit that I am getting more used to him but I liked having Mom and Dad just to myself. I got all their attention!!!
When Mom comes home, I chase Albert away from her and stand guard by her until we go for our walk. In the morning when Mom and Dad are getting ready for work I guard them both. At bedtime I sometimes chase Albert underneath the bed. Of course, Mom and Dad pull him out and put him on top of the bed with us (they think he's "cute"). You might say I'm a little jealous of their attention.

REALLY, I am a NICE guy! I am very loyal and affectionate. I look at situations and think them through. An example is when I go to the door to be let out, Albert want out too ... well he goes out the door, flying through the yard and I stay back and pick up one of my favourite toys and make Mom play with me. Of course I don't get much time, but I continue to trick Albert. My parents were told by both our vet and groomer that I was a "Real Looker". Due to underbite and a few medical problems, I could not have children. I know my parents have a real special place in their hearts for me because I am the first "born" in our family. My brother has a very expressive manner with his face while my expressions are deep in my eyes. Mom says she can see my eyes.

Ah, yes .... Albert! Mom and Dad think he's really CUTE! While I think things out, Albert charges forward as previously noted... They can't decide if he is schnauzer, cat or jack rabbit! Since he is so much more agile than me he really charms them when he jumps up on the sofa arm from the floor and sits looking into the kitchen area. They talk to him about anything and he pulls those floppy ears (mine are cropped) back and puts them up, cocks his head and tries to determine what they are saying.

When he really wants to get them, he gets on the back of the sofa, either looking into the kitchen or laying his head down on his front paws watching you. Some of our friends say he has the cutest face and expressions they have seen.

Mom took a picture of us last November and as soon as I can get her to scan it, I will send it to you.

If you have any wisdom or advice on how I can be a little more tolerant of Albert, let me know. Mom does all the tricks she knows and we even do special things with Mom and Dad by ourselves. but those times are just not enough for me! And of course, I came from my litter to Mom and Dad and adjusted all by myself whereas Albert came from his litter to a home with another dog. Although I showed him early who the dominant dog was, he won't do anything without me! He really LOVES me!

Thanks for listening....

Conrad....and Albert.

Hello Joyce and Missy
I'm just back last night from and 18-day birding trip -- Perth to Adelaide through the Great Victorian and the Simpson deserts (via Laverton, the Ann Beadell Highway, Coober Pedy, Oodnadatta, Dalhousie Springs, Lyndhurst, the Flinders Ranges, Quorn, Warren Gorge)...Will be leaving again soon for the UK...so you did indeed catch me between trips; in between washing red dust out of everything and re-packing!
The photos came out very well on the web page and it was great to see Honey & Cobber, Jack & Ben, Jarvi, etc... Jack & Ben are coming to stay again on Monday for a week... It was good to see Heidi's name mentioned on the web page too...
May see you down the park soon. All for now then,
Love from Honey & Cobber & Me.

Hi Missy
My picture looks great and I think you Mum is so clever. Maybe my Mum can get a scanner and learn to do these clever things. Thank her very much and tell her it will be forwarded to all our friends. We are about to go to Queenscliff. I fear we shall be walking in the rain, but who cares when you are walking in such a great place as the beach at Queenscliff.
Still hope to see you some time with Honey and Cobber.
Bow-wow Heidi.

My Mum is sending your Mum a photo of me looking 'my best'. Well, that's what I hear her saying! In fact, this photo has been enlarged and is hanging in the bedroom. Do not bother returning it as we have several copies of it. Have you been having some good walks? Have fun and thanks again for your web page.

Hi Missy
One time I met you at Balwyn Park. We have mutual friends, Honey and Cobber. You are bigger than me. You see, I am a miniature schnauzer. It doesn't matter what size. All schnauzers are the best dogs that humans can live with!! I have a new friend in our street. His name is Ferdie and he is a black, 14 weeks, miniature. My mum minded him yesterday morning and we had a really good game.

How does you Mum put photos on your web site? There are hundreds of photos of me floating around my house. It would be great to see myself on a web site.

Hope we meet again and bow-wow to you.

Heidi

He has a girlfriend mini called Daisy and they go on walks together. In Australia minis are really common now but we have had Maxy for 7 years. Well, cool web page is all I wanted to say,

Subject: Hello

i recently went to the dog pound with a friend of mine. she was there looking for a cat.when minding my own business, i looked down to see the saddest pair of brown eyes perhaps i've ever seen. those eyes were attached to (at that time), the dirtiest, most matted black dog i have ever seen. well needless to say i took him for a "test walk". as you can guess, $65.00, one nuttering, and a trip to the groomer later, i had a dog.
Seven is now a beautiful black miniature schnauzer with a heart as good as gold. if a dog can have a sense of humor, he has a great one, and at times i think he might be smarter than me!
it's been two months now and we're the best of friends!
by the way, he got his name because he has a small white 7 marking on his chest, i call it his tattoo from "doggie jail'.
thanks for letting me brag!

Hi
I have a miniature schnauzer. Her name is Nikki, and she will be 3 years old in October. She is a joy to our family. I am trying to find some information. Over the last few months I have noticed two spots of dry skin on her back. I have checked with her doctor and they have said this is common for a schnauzer. I am looking for suggestions of treating it so it will not spread. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kathy.

We're glad to know you have settled in again at home. We haven't seen you this week because our Mum is very lazy [not true!] and we don't get to the park until about ten o'clock these dark, wet mornings. AND she complains about the mud when we get home again. It's not easy being a dog!

Subject: G'day

Dear Missy,
Urban living is pretty tame compared to the life here at Te Popo. Have to forgo the morning walk as the energy is used up chasing possums (all legal over here) at night. The count to date is now over 200.

I have the job (with some help from Pepper) of sniffing them out and alerting my Dad, who (after heaps of barking on our part) appears with gun in hand and provided he can see it (his eyes aren't as good as ours you know -- even when he has a torch) then he tries to shoot it (usually successful). When it falls to the ground it becomes all mine as Pepper may be a hunter, but she certainly isn't a gatherer. No one else gets a look in as I grab the possum and take it to hide away until it has aged a bit so it can be enjoyed (usually on the front lawn.).

Over here there are other white woolly things that look very inviting but they've put up a fence so I can't get at them. I'm just biding my time.

We hear the old park looks pretty horrible now. You should see this place -- plenty of room to run and enjoy life -- I don't even have to wear a collar, except when I make a trip to the vet. I'm told these visits are really much cheaper than when we were in Melbourne, but it doesn't make the trip any more enjoyable.

I'm a bit of an oddity over here and get plenty of fuss when people come to visit; especially after I've told them who's boss., they haven't seen many Standard Schnauzers and they can't believe my eyebrows.

My big job over here is to look after Mum each day as Dad heads off in the car to go to work or something. Anyhow, every morning when he leaves he tells me to look after Mum, so that's what I do -- although she gets a bit cranky when I sit on the patch of garden she is trying to weed.
Well must get on with the possum hunting.
All the best,
Your friend, Sargeant.

I think it's a wonderful idea putting Chloe as an e-friend of Missy's, I'm sure they'd be friends in the flesh so to speak if they were together. Chloe is a very friendly dog unless her food bowl is threatened. My friend bought his dog down from Brisbane a couple of months ago and Chloe even gave up her doggy bed for her new friend (she didn't have any choice) but the food was another matter. Golden Retrievers are supposed to be able to eat till they pop.

Tim.
